6/15/05 WHERE THE HECK HAVE WE BEEN???

Holy Smoke! It's been almost a year since I updated this site. Sorry, guys. I guess we've been busy. The latest on Anna's House is…drum roll…we've got a couple of shows coming up for July. Please come by! Check our shows page for details. Other than this, we're still slowly but surely working on the next recording. Jay has added more layers to the music…more mandolin, banjo, and bass…courtesy of some great local musicians. The rough cuts sound great. My vocals will probably be done in the fall. Too, too hot up here on the second floor of Casa Falso-Capaldi for shutting off the a.c. and recording. I'm not even going to venture to guess when it will all be done, but I can say that it will be our best effort. Anyway, hope this note finds you well. Keep yourselves cool and hope to see you at one of the shows!

Ciao!

7/2/04 NEWS, RECORDINGS AND GIGS

Hey Everyone

Have a great 4 th of July Weekend. Hope we get some nice weather, as we've got a few cook-outs/gatherings to go to (we're very popular). Have you noticed the wonderful updates to our site? We've been adding some new photos and information (see the biography page for a wonderful link to Kristen's “big hair” days!)

In music news, Jay has been laying down tracks with some very talented musicians for our next recording. In addition to our vocals and guitar, we've got the phenomenal Christian Howes on violin, along with great, wonderful, fabulous Dave Richardson on mandolin, Keith Larson on bass and John DiGiulio on Drums. And we're just getting started, so stay tuned!

Last night, we played a really fun gig on the festival stage at the Sunset Music Festival down in Newport. Beautiful weather and a great, appreciative crowd…every show should be like that. What a night. Keep an eye on our shows page for updates of our gigs.

Well, hope this note finds you happy, healthy and wise! Enjoy the long weekend and hope to see you all at the shows!

1/18/04 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all made it safely and happily through the holiday season. It’s safe to say that over at Anna’s House we have been doing a whole lot of nothin’ in the gig department, just relaxing and celebrating the joys of the season with family and friends. What we have been doing is working on some new tunes, which we hope to begin recording soon. Justin has begun his collection of expensive and bewildering recording equipment, which he has – at least once a day - threatened to sell on ebay due to the complexities of the machinery. (He usually says this using far fewer words and nearly all curses). I, Kristen, have been doing the super-important stuff, such as obsessively searching for Anna’s House daily on Google (to see if somehow we’ve like, been nominated for a Grammy and nobody told us), obsessively checking the number of hits on our Cdbaby page and of course, obsessively checking our email. But here we are in a bright new year – 2004 – with all the promises of a new year. We at Anna’s House promise to work on getting some gigs. We do have one coming up in February at Café Arpeggio in Fall River. It is a very cool little place with good coffee and food. Check out our shows page for information.

10/12/03 ANNA’S HOUSE TAKES PART IN “SINGING OUT AGAINST HUNGER” FUNDRAISER

What a fun gig! We played on a the very rainy evening of October 12th at Evelyn’s Drive-in in Tiverton, RI to help raise money for East Bay area food banks. Despite the rain, there was a very enthusiastic crowd! (The competition of the Red Sox game having been “washed away”.) The highlight of the evening came when the whole crowd clapped along to “Sadness Crept”. Evelyn’s is a very cool place, right on the water. They’re closing down for the season, but we’ll be heading down there for some good eats when they reopen in April.

9/14/03 ANNA’S HOUSE FEATURED ON “THE GOOD LIFE”

Anna’s House got to play “famous recording artists” for a weekend! On September 14th, fresh from the successful release of “The Distant Sun and the Attic Dreamer”, we visited our friends Deb Morais and Steve Kass on their show, "The Good Life” on 630 WPRO-AM.

9/13/03 CD RELEASE PARTY A HUGE SUCCESS!

Hi Everyone,
First of all, we'd like to thank everyone for coming out to Brewed Awakenings on September 13th to see us perform and buy a CD. We were so thrilled to see so many people - and to get to catch up with so many great friends, past and present. We especially want to thank Anthony, Sharon and Dave for contributing their musical talent; it was TRULY an honor to perform with you. Also, a big thanks to Chris, Alisa and Kristen for helping out with the introductions, sales, photos and video...FAB-U-LOUS!
